It all begins with an idea.
What to Expect During Your Tattoo Session
Getting a tattoo is an exciting and personal experience! Here’s everything you need to know and expect during your tattoo session to ensure you feel comfortable, prepared, and confident:
Before Your Appointment
Hydrate and Rest: Make sure to drink plenty of water and get a good night’s sleep. Being well-rested helps your body handle the process better.
Eat a Good Meal: Have a solid meal 1-2 hours before your appointment. This will help maintain your blood sugar levels and keep you feeling steady throughout the session.
Dress Comfortably: Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the area being tattooed. Dark clothing is preferred, as ink stains may occur.
Bring ID: If you’re a first-time client, bring a valid form of identification for age verification.
Avoid Alcohol and Blood Thinners: Avoid alcohol, aspirin, or any blood-thinning medications 24 hours before your session, as they can increase bleeding.
What to Bring
Snacks and Drinks: For longer sessions, bring snacks and water to keep your energy up.
Entertainment: Feel free to bring headphones, a book, or something to pass the time while you sit or you stream your favorite movies/shows here.
Reference Images: If we’re working on a custom piece, have your reference images saved on your phone or printed out for easy access.
During Your Session
Design Approval: We’ll start by reviewing the final design together. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and request minor adjustments.
Stencil Application: Once you approve the design, we’ll apply the stencil to your skin. This is your chance to check placement and make sure everything looks perfect.
Tattooing Process:
Hygiene First: The area will be thoroughly cleaned and sterilized.
Breaks: Feel free to let me know if you need a short break to stretch or grab a snack. Your comfort is a priority!
Pain and Discomfort: Tattoos can be uncomfortable, but the sensation varies based on the location and your personal pain tolerance. It’s completely normal and manageable for most people.
Communication: If you feel uncomfortable at any point, let me know. I’m here to ensure you have the best experience possible.
After the Session
Post-Tattoo Care: I will walk you through detailed aftercare instructions to ensure proper healing.
Initial Wrap: Your tattoo will be wrapped to protect it. Leave this on for the time specified.
Healing Process: Expect some redness, swelling, and itching during healing. Follow aftercare guidelines to prevent infection and promote proper healing.
Touch-Ups: If needed, touch-ups are typically complementary within the first 3 months of your tattoo.
